Let’s get to know each other a little more...
Oh hey there, I'm Genelle.
Portrait & Lifestyle Photographer
If you’ve liked the look of my photos so far, then I’d say you’re practically guaranteed to like me. I am someone who strives to inject my essence into everything I create. I have an an eye for beauty in both nature and in life, and in both the simple and the extraordinary. I love to travel, to discover new things and to become immersed in the places and the stories that surround me.
I've been a photographer for over 25 years. I started out at a national magazine, then moved to a local newspaper where I stayed for many years, before accepting a job at a large studio in the city, before finally deciding to strike out on my own as a wedding and portrait photographer. I started out in the old 35mm film days where I'd be forced to run around with a light meter around my neck taking readings. I rode the highs and lows of the transition to digital. I've honed my craft across many fields, including in journalism, studio, weddings, commercial and portraits. So to say that I know my shit is a bit of an understatement.
These days I prefer a simpler, more authentic style of photography which uses good light, emotion and connection to better capture these beautiful and natural moments. I shoot with fixed dedicated lenses and prefer to capture and observe what I'm shooting and allow the scene to evolve naturally. I hope what I do speaks to you on some level and that we can connect and create something incredible together.
