I just love to capture moments, life and all the messy, beautiful feels.
Don't think of this as a simple photo session. Consider it an outing for you, your partner, your family or loved ones where you can just be yourselves. All you need to do is enjoy being with each other; spending time laughing, chasing, cuddling and making memories. I'm just there to capture it in all its beautiful and authentic glory. Don't worry about being perfect or posing, just let you be you and let me literally be the fly on the wall documenting this unmissable time in your lives.
My work revolves around your story and the relationships between you and your loved ones. Trust me to guide you on the best time, location and space to have this all unfold naturally and authentically.
I've been doing this for many, many years so let me help you create these memories, and with the help of some beautiful light and incredible scenery capture them to the absolute best of my abilities.
My approach
01.
Get to know me
Make sure you've had a really good look over my work and a read about who I am. My work should resonate with you if we are the right fit. Make sure you go over all my packages, costs and options so you know what's involved.
02.
Help me get to know you
Fill out my enquiry form with as much detail as you can about you and your vision for your shoot. I'll get in touch for a quick chat so we can work out all the details and get you booked in.
03.
On the day.
We will meet at our designated location, have a quick chat so I can give you a real sense of what our adventure will entail. I'll chat to your kids. Get to know them so they can trust and relax with me. Make sure we have all our outfits sorted, snacks if required, drinks etc and off we will go.
04.
To pose, or not to pose
During the shoot we will walk, we will talk, play, sit, climb, run, laugh, cuddle and just have fun. I don't want you looking perfect and all smiling at the camera. I want your images to be authentic, to have meaning and character so you absolutely fall in love with them.
This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?
Your shoot will go for an hour, but we usually meet up around 15mins early so we can do the meet and greet. I will take lots and lots of combinations of different photos in several different locations so you will have lots of variety.
How many pictures will I receive?
I promise between 50-80 images, all going well, I usually deliver a lot more. As I say I try to give you lots of options and combinations so you have plenty of variety.
What type of portrait photography do you do?
I mainly photograph families and couples, newborns and maternity and when available events such as birthdays. I do have another business Immerse Photography where I photograph weddings and elopements too so have a look there if you are needing either of those.
Can I purchase all the high res files after the shoot?
If you choose to book a Your Story package that only includes 10 social media images but decide once you've seen them you'd love all the images you can absolutely upgrade to purchase them. The cost to purchase all the images is $500.
What if I need to reschedule?
I understand that things happen, kids get sick and circumstances change. If you absolutely need to reschedule then I require at least 24hrs notice and offer the first reschedule at no extra charge. After this every reschedule will incur a fee of $100 to secure another date. If the reschedule is occurring due to an unavoidable or traumatic issue then obviously I will work with you to find a solution that works. Deposits are non refundable. If I need to reschedule due to weather conditions then this will be done at no charge in most cases. Weather is always a tricky one when shooting outside but I assure you I can capture beautiful images in most weather situations. I will however keep you informed if the weather is looking really bad and get a plan in place before the shoot whether that is a different location or a reschedule.
Can I order frames, canvasses, albums and prints from you?
Yes absolutely! The gallery you receive you images on has an online shop attached that is connected directly to my pro lab. You can order frames, canvasses, prints and albums through this shop. The quality of these products is amazing and well worth the extra cost compared to printing at a Kmart or Officeworks. If you need help doing this just shoot me an email as I'm more than happy to help.
What should I wear?
Ultimately you need to be dressed to fit your style and vibe but also to fit with the brief of the images you love from my portfolio. I prefer natural tones and colours that work with the environment of the location we are shooting in. Long flowing dresses, knits, linens, loose shirts, denim etc. Make sure you check out my portfolio and see what others have worn in the location you've chosen and see if that suits your style etc. If we are on the beach I prefer no shoes, or shoes we can kick on and off easily especially with small children. You need to be able to move and sit easily. Lastly with the weather come with options and layers in case it's sunny but cools off during the sunset.
What locations do you shoot at?
I live in Kilcunda so I mainly focus on shooting here on the beautiful beaches, rockpools, cliffs and open fields that surround me or alternatively in your home. I am happy to travel to other locations but a travel fee may apply if the travel time is more than an hour. I do also spend quite a bit of time at Mt Hotham each year so if snow or epic alpine vistas are your thing yell out and I can make that happen.
How long until I will receive the images?
Usually I have your online gallery ready to be delivered within a week of the shoot. The gallery will be sent as an email with a link. You can view, share, make favourite lists and purchase prints, frames, canvasses and more on the gallery. The gallery can be password protected and also has a PIN for downloading images to protect your privacy.
How does payment work?
I take a 50% deposit to book in all shoots. This secures your date and time. The balance of payment is due on or before the shoot. This can be done either via direct deposit or cash on the day.
What's the best time of the day for a shoot?
I love to shoot when the light is warm and golden. Golden hour changes during daylight savings over summer. Between April and October it's around 5pm and after daylight savings kicks in it changes to around 7.30pm. Sometimes when you have small children it is better to do the shoot a bit earlier so I'd aim for an autumn or spring shoot in that case. However in saying that most of the time the kids are really good as they are outside and having fun so it's a bit of a treat to be up later. You just need to make sure they have had dinner beforehand and perhaps a sleep during the day. A good tip is to bring their pyjamas to change them into before popping them in the car to head home.
Can I bring a pet to the shoot?
Oh please do. I'm an absolute animal lover so more than happy to have all family members of both the human and fur baby kind attend. If you have a special animal or something other than a dog let me know and we can work out a plan.
